AO Ansaldo-VEI made the contracts to supply 5 SVC for -UGMK-Steel (Tyumen, Russia) 35 kV 70 Mvar, for Energomashspecstal (Kramatorsk, Ukraine) 38,5 kV 70 Mvar and for Belorussian Steel Works (Zhlobin, Belorussia) – two SVC 10 kV 10 Mvar & one 33 kV 185 Mvar.

The project named “CSRT”, which includes 2 static var compensators made under the scheme of controlled shunt reactor of transformer type (CSRT) with the capacity of 60 Mvar each to be connected to the bus bars 220 kV of the two substation of the power grid “Norte de Angola” was successfully commissioning.
The project CSRT provided:
• Reduction of active losses in the three transmission lines at 25%;
• Increase the limit of static and dynamic stability of 92 MW;
• Increase the transfer capacity of the three transmission lines of 50-60 MW due to improved stability, increase the voltage and unloading the lines from the reactive power.

EMPRESA NACIONAL DE ELECTRICIDADE, Empresa Pública (Angola) signed the Contracts with ÀÎ Ansaldo-VEI, JSC “Zaporozhtransformator” (Ukraine) and ODEBRECHT-ANGOLA to supply 2 SVC 60 MVA 230 kV based on controlled shunt reactor-transformer technology for substations 230/66 kV Kazenga and Viana. The volume of AO Ansaldo-VEI supply includes the thyristor valves, FCB’s and control systems.
